Lord Wandsworth College
We feel blessed that our School is next door to the 1,200 acres of Lord Wandsworth College (LWC), an independent boarding and day school for children aged 11 to 18.
We have a really good and strengthening relationship with LWC and not just because of shared geography. A number of LWC staff have, and have had, children at Long Sutton Primary, they are represented on our Board of Governors and LWC have been very supportive in giving our pupils access to their wonderful facilities. More than that, they also invite us to a number of annual events, including sports days, music concerts, theatre productions, summer fetes and Remembrance Day services, as well inviting our Key Stage Two children to free, private sports clubs and lessons including swimming, hockey, cricket and athletics. A number of our children often move onto LWC at the end of Year 6 and we always receive positive feedback about how well-prepared they are in all areas: academics, sport, music and socially.
The bond we have with LWC is a real benefit to our children and families and adds strength to our connectivity with the local community alongside our relationship with our fantastic secondary school, Robert Mays.
