School Bus & Taxi
As a rural school, many of our children who live within catchment are eligible for free school transport by bus or taxi.
Children are entitled to free transport if they meet the eligibility criteria.
The child must:
be of compulsory school age (compulsory school age is the start of the term after a child turns age 5)
attend the nearest catchment school
and
live more than 2 miles from the school (children below the age of 8) or more than 3 miles from the school (children aged 8 and above)
Our school bus route goes from Upton Grey and through South Warnborough to Long Sutton. Children who do not live on the bus route but still meet eligibility criteria can be transported by a Hampshire school taxi. Parents whose children are eligible can apply for a school bus pass using the link below.
We encourage all children who are eligible to apply for a bus pass and make use of the bus if possible, as this reduces congestion on the road outside school and the children enjoy travelling on the bus with their friends each day. Older children take on the role of bus buddies to help the younger children. Parents should note that there is no escort on the school bus; the only adult on board is the bus driver. Every driver is DBS checked and the school liaise closely with the driver as required each day.
